Delft, a lovely city of approximately 103,000 people, is known for its historic canals, blue pottery, and as the birthplace of painter Johannes Vermeer. The city, which is home to the renowned Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), is a centre of innovation and learning. Delft's picturesque old town includes sights such as the Nieuwe Kerk, Oude Kerk, and Royal Delft factory. Get to Know Delft

Delft, a charming city in South Holland, is known for its unique blue and white Delftware pottery and its link with the famed painter Johannes Vermeer. The city's gorgeous canals, mediaeval churches, and the prestigious Delft University of Technology all add to its distinct identity. Delft's history is one of innovation and tradition, stretching from its mediaeval origins to its current significance in scientific and technical growth.

De Nieuwe Kerk

The Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) is a Gothic Protestant church known for its lofty spire and royal tombs from the House of Orange. It was built in the 15th century and features a bell tower with panoramic views over Delft.

Royal Delft

Royal Delft, founded in 1653, is the final intact factory of the 32 that were constructed in Delft during the seventeenth century. It is famous for making the classic blue and white Delftware ceramics.

Stadhuis van Delft

Delft's City Hall is a Renaissance-style edifice located on the Markt, across from the Nieuwe Kerk. It serves as the city's administrative headquarters and is a popular location for civic weddings. Most administrative activities have been relocated to an office within the Delft railway station.

DISS is the major organisation representing foreign students in Delft. Their purpose is to bring students of various countries together and enhance their time in Delft. They are available to answer any queries or concerns you may have during your stay in this wonderful student city. They also hold frequent member meetups so that you can meet people from all around the world who are studying in Delft.

Theater de Veste

For 182 years, this library has collected and preserved knowledge while making it available to all. The digitisation of research and education has resulted in tremendous development of library services in recent decades, broadening the library's playing field.
