Overview

The Hague, which has a population of around 545,000, is the seat of the Dutch government and home to a number of international organisations, notably the International Court of Justice. It houses numerous universities, including Leiden University College and The Hague University of Applied Sciences. The Hague, known for its blend of ancient sites such as the Binnenhof and Mauritshuis, and modern institutions, provides students with a one-of-a-kind learning atmosphere. Its beachfront location, cultural diversity, and thriving expat community make it an appealing destination for international students.

Get to Know The Hague

The Hague, the seat of the Dutch government and home to the International Court of Justice, is a city with global significance. The Hague, renowned for its stately embassies, royal palaces, and the old Binnenhof complex, combines a deep political past with cultural sophistication. The city is also known for its magnificent beaches and cultural institutions, such as the Mauritshuis, which holds treasures of Dutch Golden Age painting.

Binnenhof

The Binnenhof is the ancient heart of Dutch politics, including the Prime Minister's office and the Hall of Knights. It originated from the 13th century and is an important emblem of Dutch democracy.

Mauritshuis

The Mauritshuis is a museum that houses the Royal Cabinet of Paintings, which includes works such as Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earring." It's housed in a seventeenth-century mansion.

Peace Palace

The Peace Palace, constructed in 1913, is an international law administrative structure that houses the International Court of Justice. It symbolises global peace and justice.

ESN The Hague

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a non-profit international student organisation. Their mission is to represent international students, thus providing opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development under the principle of Students Helping Students.

InterAccess

Interaccess is a social organisation created and maintained by international students at The Hague University. Interaccess is aimed at THUAS students, but all students in The Hague are welcome to participate in their various (social) activities!

S.V. Tribez

Tribez empowers and educates students of African heritage and their diaspora. Tribez strives to empower and educate students about Black culture through educational activities, some of which are carried out in collaboration with their partners, and to prepare them for professional life. They provide an opportunity for you to connect with like-minded people in a comfortable and distressing environment.

The Hague International Centre

The Hague International Centre is your resource for living, working, and studying in The Hague region. They work with international newcomers and employers to make them feel welcome in our region. The Hague International Centre is part of the municipality of The Hague. They offer all of our services for free.

Nutshuis

Rooms for rent, social organisation offices, a café, and a city garden. Het Nutshuis serves the following functions. However, the remarkable, gigantic structure in the heart of The Hague has much more to offer. Here, centuries of history meet the world of now and tomorrow.

Humanity House

Humanity House's museum provides an immersive experience of what it is like to be in the midst of a disaster or conflict, as well as temporary exhibitions on related themes. Humanity House also served as a platform, a gathering place for people, organisations, and agencies concerned with humanitarian issues. Finally, the educational programme brought global issues closer to children and young adults.
